BEAUTY HEROES: JANUARY

So, here I am on my 3rd month of the Beauty Heroes subscription box and I have to say - having tried every subscription box under the sun, both green and otherwise, this is honestly the best value out of any box and a perfect way to explore the some incredible nontoxic products.

January's Box

New Beginnings Are Beautiful

2 Full Size Hero Products: Black Clay Facial Soap ($24), Purely Simple Face Cream ($60)
2 Sidekick Products: Deluxe Sample Nectar Vital Rose Serum ($10), Soap Saver ($2)

Thoughts?

Osmia Organics has been a brand I've adored and respected since I reviewed their Rose Clay Facial soap, body oils and serums. As a refresher, Osmia was created by Dr. Sarah Villafranco, a former emergency medicine doctor with a passion for the transportive experience products can bring. She wanted to "return to her senses" and create a line of pure and simple products that could be infused as organic beauty staples into anyone's routine. These products are perfect examples of that.

You know I'm a stickler for face cream. I have found maybe 2 in my green beauty life that I have been completely satisfied with, and this Purely Simple Face Cream is a 3rd. I know, big statement. I was pleasantly surprised and I probably never would have tried it without the Beauty Heroes box. Ingredient wise it is very clean with an aloe base, which is an excellent, lasting hydrator. It feels thick and luxurious, your face feels a surge of moisture and yet it absorbs quickly and makes a beautiful base for makeup. It also smells like heaven, so that's always a plus! Ideal for any skin type, especially those with sensitivities. (Side note, the 100% recyclable container does not contain a metal spring, which means the pump provides a lot of product, press down half way for a more workable amount).

The Black Clay Facial soap was also a pleasant surprise. I know that soaps have gotten a bad rap in life, but these aren't your typical soaps. They are formulated to nourish the skin. This one contains Australian black clay and Dead Sea mud, both are mineral rich and bring water to the skin while almond, avocado and castor oils condition, soften and purify skin. While I don't use every day, I infuse into my routine 2-3 times per week and it really clarifies my more congested regions where I would get breakouts. And not clarify in a way that strips or dries your face out, but simply exfoliating undesirable material from your pores and leaving your skin in an improved state. The sidekick Soap Saver prolongs the longevity and condition of the soap, so I love the thoughtfulness in including it.

Another sweet surprise is the Nectar Vital Rose Face Serum, which hasn't even launched yet. Which means Beauty Heroes members are some of the first to get their hands on this gorgeous product.

What is Beauty Heroes?

As I mentioned, it's a monthly subscription box. For the price of $39 per month, you get one to two full-size, non toxic products that are comprised of "HERO" ingredients. Meaning, the ones that are good for you, ones that won't harm you, ones that nourish your skin and your soul. In the same shipment you usually get a smaller Sidekick product that is a deluxe sample size that compliments the full size version, another way to completely explore a line and see how it works into your routine. Typical value of the box is $75 dollars and above. So you're at least getting double what your paying, if not 5x the value like the December box.

Aside from the actual products, one thing I love about the box is that it's educational. It always comes with a pocket guide that goes into detail about each product and also why it's a HERO. There's also resources that explain the Villains, or the things we should avoid at all cost. With every box I learn more and more about the decisions to make, and it becomes like second nature.

Oh, and how could I forget, subscribers get 15% off of the Beauty Heroes Clean Beauty Shop, which has every Hero Product featured, so if you love it you can always replenish your stock at a discount!
