Rave Review: Gressa Skin (Yes, THAT Foundation)

If you follow me on Instagram, you've likely seen me RAVING about this next product (and line in general). You also know that I'm a stickler for high performing makeup, so when a company nails an item I've long been searching for, it's like I just can't sit down, quiet down or put it down. Yes, I'm talking about Gressa Skincare, more specifically, their Minimalist Corrective Serum Foundation paired with their Minimalist Illuminating Serum.

The Foundation

So, in general, I prefer a variable foundation that can serve just as well on light coverage days as it does on occasions I need more (because I'm SO over having a dozen foundations for different needs). I also like something that regardless of the coverage, allows my skin to breath and allows my skin to still look like skin. This checks both of those boxes.

The tiniest amount of  Minimalist Foundation goes such a long way. I found it applied the best with a brush, but it's also really natural looking with a sponge (and I imagine your fingers would work just fine, too). If you really want full coverage you can easily get there, but I suggest going full force from the start instead of building. Since it dries a semi-matte, powdery finish, adding layers may remove the work you've already done.

And speaking of the finish, it's gorgeous. I've never been a fan of powdery finishes, being that I have normal-dry skin, but somehow this does not enhance my dryness or settle into any lines. It gives me, what I feel like, is a flawless look without looking overdone. It imparts a healthy, even appearance that somehow revives my skin. But if you're looking for that added oomph of dewy glow, read on.

Ohhh, and I almost forgot.... the tone correcting formula is full of vitamins and extracts that enhance long term clarity and balance, win.

Disregard the bottle order, the swatch order is 2.5 and then 3.

2.5 is a touch more neutral and 3 has added warmth.

The Illuminating Serum

Luminzers and highlighters tend to fall on a spectrum - from mega watt shine, shimmer and sometimes glitter to just a touch of light reflecting perfection. This one falls more on the later end. Gressa's Illuminating Serum is a gorgeous, quick absorbing serum that accentuates your skin with a subtle pearlized finish. It also works in the long term by nourishing your skin with botanical extracts that improve radiance and clarity. You can either pat all over your skin for a bigger boost of brightness prior to your foundation routine, or tap on your cheekbones, inner eye, brow bone, bridge of nose and cupids bow upon completing your entire makeup routine. Either way, it's absolute perfection. I've even added a few drops to my body oils and lotions for glowing skin on a night out.

You can just barely see the beauty in this Illuminating Serum, just a touch.

The Purifying Oil

If you're looking for a hydrating treatment for AM or PM to continue all of this skin enhancing goodness, the Purifying Oil works wonderfully with the above products, or on it's own. It's light enough to add a drop to your morning moisturizer or pat on prior to makeup application (just give it about 5 minutes) and also does a bang up job slathered all over for a night treatment. Combining Immortelle, Rose Hip and Jojoba Oils, it works at diminishing lines, wrinkles, boosts elasticity and soothes skin. I feel like it's also helped fade some of my discolorations, which I'm always in favor of, especially when I don't have to doubt the active ingredients.

Overall, I think Gressa is coming out with some highly effective skin care and brilliantly performing makeup items. I can't wait to get my hands on more of the line to share with you because it is 100% part of my routine now and I can't (and won't) stop singing it's praises, because they've truly taken natural, non-toxic ingredients and made them work in a way that accentuates what we're all working with!

You can get both the Illuminating Serum & Minimalist Foundation, along with their Immaculate Buffing Brush and Brilliant Lip Boost in their Glowing Trio Collection, which is a great buy. I promise, it's a purchase you'd be pleased to make!

  1. Gorgeous - definitely a brand we've had our eye on!

  2. Looks beautiful on you! Which shade ended up working best for you or did you have to mix shades?

  3. I ended up using the 3 as its a touch warmer/olive based compared to the 2.5.

    1. Good to know, thank you! I sent Gressa a photo of myself because I am so indecisive, and 2.5 was recommended for me. I have a light olive skin tone similar to yours and will probably end up getting both 2.5 and 3 just in case I need to mix. Thanks again for your reply. Great blog, by the way. :)

  4. beautiful! what blush do you have on!?
