The Real Deal: Younique Moodstruck Fiber Mascara

So, what's the deal with these fiber lashes anyway? I'm sure we've all seen the pictures floating around on the internet of how they can go wrong, but did you know how right they can be? I'm telling you all right now, I love this stuff. But there's a secret that I think many are missing out on, and I'm about to let you in on it.

Follow Directions:

They're simple, but certainly key to lasting, gorgeous lashes.

1) Apply an even coat of Transplanting Gel to your lashes - as you would a regular mascara.
2) Immediately apply the 3D Fibers while the Transplanting Gel is still wet. This allows them to stick. You'll see from the photo below, for ease of time I hold them both in one hand open and ready to apply. Do one eye at a time.
3) Seal the fibers with the Transplanting Gel. You can repeat if you want more dramatic results.

TIP: Start fibers mid-lash upwards. You don't need fibers at the base of your lashes and it will avoid any irritation.

Be Generous:

Don't be afraid to really pile on the fibers (this is part of the secret.) They layer quite well and you can truly extend the length of your lashes this way. I like to flip the back of my lashes as well for added length - just don't forget to set them properly with the top coat of transplanting gel.

Comb Through:

Here's what you may not have known... now that you've really piled on the fibers, you may be feeling a bit clumpy. You should, but not for long.

I've used a lash comb since college (prior I used a safety pin to pick my lashes - ladies, stop doing this) and it's the secret to beautiful, voluminous, separated lashes no matter what mascara you use. It works particularly well for the Moodstruck Fiber Lashes because while it may cause a tiny bit of fall out (that you can sweep off with a powder brush), it will leave you with long, attention grabbing lashes. I don't even know what brand my lash comb is, I've had it for years, but Younique sells one and it's probably easier to purchase one when you get your mascara instead of hunting one down. The metal picks are a must, thick plastic ones just won't do.

The Result

TOP: One coat of regular mascara.
BOTTOM: One coat of Youniqe Moodstruck 3d Fiber Lash.
You can obviously see the difference. They stand up straighter, have more definition and volume, are lengthened and not at all clumpy.

Younique is also more than their top-selling mascara (and Lash Comb). They offer an entire line of healthy, clean cosmetics. You can check their ingredient ratings and all of them are low, which I love. I also love their Moodstruck Precision Eyeliners. I can't believe I'm saying this, but I have completely replaced my Urban Decay 24/7 with this. Moodstruck is rich, intense and lasts all day with out creeping down under my eye or into the corner. The consistency of the pencil is easy to sharpen and glides on like silk. Definitely recommend.
